To many of us, job security is critical when it comes to our quality of life. Knowing we can pay the bills and support our family takes a huge weight off - and allows us to plan for the future.

Insecure jobs are a part of a wider trend toward underemployment and low wage growth. They're a strong marker of the growing inequality across our country.
Unpredictable and fluctuating pay. Inferior rights and entitlements. Limited, or no access to paid leave. Irregular and unpredictable working hours... these are just some of the unfair conditions we’re expected to put up with and, very often, there’s no end in sight.
Around 1 million workers are currently stuck as ongoing casual workers. With no assurance that they will ever transition into a permanent role.

The collective strength of our union also won casino workers in Victoria, like Kevin Pham, better pay and more hours. The union-negotiated enterprise agreement secured more work and a guaranteed pay rise for workers who had been employed for a set amount of hours.
Together, we’re making sure you have a job you can count on.
